Organic Digester (OD), is a natural, non-chemical, entirely safe, treatment product for ponds and aquariums. It contains tens of millions of naturally occurring bacteria, which have been selected and produced for their ability to degrade organic matter.
OD works to reduce excessive growth, that can cause pea-green water and stringy algae, by digesting it’s food source. OD digests ammonia, nitrites and then indirectly, nitrates, by continually breaking down the ammonia cycle. OD, when added to the pond, creates a biological chain reaction by producing greater quantities of natural bacteria and enzymes. OD also will seed any bio-filter over time and works to reduce the bottom sludge. OD is filled with what is called facultative bacteria, which can go both ways, aerobically and anerobically, depending on the situation. Obviously, ample aeration in the water, makes any bacteria work faster and easier.

OD is entirely safe for all fish and aquatic plants. You can use as much as you would like without worry of overdosing. If used on a regular basis, OD will work to maintain good water chemistry, which in turn will limit the amount of excessive growth. OD is produced in both powder and liquid. Liquid works faster when applied, but powder has a much longer shelf life (three years to one for the liquid). OD will also work to reduce any phosphate in the water, by binding it up, so it cannot escape. OD is very economical, as a quart bottle will treat as much as 20,000 gallons of water on a maintenance basis. A 12 ounce jar of OD Powder will treat approximately 50,000 gallons of water.
