A very special 1941 George Pring hybrid. The unique blossoms are rich deep purple with golden centers, very fragrant and abundant. Note the center of the flower is distinctly different than most tropical water lilies. The center begins with small leaf-like petals and burst into a multitude of attractive petals. Leaves are numerous, dark green flecked reddish brown and purple beneath. Small specimens may actually be kept in large aquaria or small pools, but does provide spectacular unique water lily flowers in any water garden.

Midnight tropical water lily

The deep purple flowers of Midnight tropical water lily have almost 100 petals and can reach 10″ across. It is a very good bloomer and the flowers have a slight fragrance. Will stay open later in the day. Beautiful addition to the water garden..

CHARACTERISTICS: Non-Viviparous – Very Free Flowering, Slight Fragrance, Deep Purple
SIZE: MEDIUM (4′ to 5′ Spread)
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS: FULL SUN
WATER DEPTH: 12″ TO 30″ (Maximum water depth is for mature water lilies)
USDA HARDINESS ZONES: 10-11
